He had already made a model of Paul Ricard in cast alumium, which was presented to the Museum by Eric Tabarly in 1981.
Forever passionate about classic yachting , his first model was made in Saint Malo when he was only 6 years old.

Yves Gaignet creates models of contemporary yachts but also of cargo ships and oil tankers; he also restores antique models and private collections.

All these activities, which he masters perfectly, have brought him in close working relationship with todays greatest architects, designers and builders.
